S. MANJINDER SINGH SIRSA CONDEMNS THE SHAMELESS ATTACK ON SIKH POLICE OFFICER IN PAKISTAN

ROHIT SHARMA,NEW DELHI :- Taking a strong stand on the incident of attacking a baptised Sikh in Pakistan, S. Manjinder Singh Sirsa, National spokesperson of Shiromani Akali Dal and General Secretary, DSGMC demanded FIR and criminal case against the culprits who attacked the turban and forced Gulab Singh Shaheen out of his home in Lahore. Mr Sirsa launched a direct attack on Pakistan Government for failing to protect the minority Sikhs and adopting a no-action approach towards the hooliganism shown in such incidents.
“Gulab Singh Shaheen is one of the first Sikhs to be a part of Pakistan Police Force. If a police officer is subjected to such harsh and disrespectful treatment, one can only imagine the fear with which common people from minority are forced to live in Pakistan,” said Mr Sirsa.
Mr Sirsa shared the video of Gulab Singh on his twitter and Facebook demanding FIR and criminal action against the culprits. In his video, Gulab Singh has clearly said that Sikhs are not safe in Pakistan. Elaborating the same, Mr Sirsa quoted the recent cold blooded murder of S. Charanjit Singh in Peshawar adding that 8 prominent Sikhs have been killed in Pakistan in last few months.
What is most disgusting in this incident is the attack on Turban of an Amritdhari Sikh. Had such an incident happened in India, the culprit would have been charged with IPC 295a as a deliberate and malicious act of insulting a religion or religious beliefs. On behalf of Shiromani Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee, I seek action on the same from Pakistan High Commission in India. There should be an FIR against the culprit and a criminal case, which we will ensure from Pakistan Govt through Pak High Commission,” said Mr Sirsa.
Mr Sirsa has also tweeted about the same to Foreign Affairs Minister Smt. Sushma Swaraj requesting her to address the issue of safety of Sikhs in Pakistan with her counterpart in Pak govt.
