Modi government targets Yogendra Yadav's family; raising the voices of farmers has rattled this government

ROHIT SHARMA,NEW DELHI :-  Yogendra Yadav, National President of newly formed political party Swaraj India, is now on the target of anti-farmer Modi government. Within two days of the successful 9-day Swaraj Yatra in Rewari district, the BJP government has attempted to threaten Yogendra Yadav's family.

The 9 day yatra held in Rewari district focused on securing MSPs for farmers’ produce and  closing down of liquor vends in the villages. The yatra has certainly rattled the ruling BJP and when questioned by reporters about it, the Haryana Agriculture Minister dismissed the questions. The raid also comes two days before a nation level meeting of AIKSCC is scheduled to be held in Delhi to decide on the future course of action of farmers’ movement.

At around 11am in the morning, the two hospitals - Kalawati Hospital and Kamla Nursing Home were simultaneously raided by more than 100 officials of the income tax department and the police. The hospitals are run by Yogendra Yadav's two sisters, brother-in-law and his nephew. Also what is noteworthy is that both the hospitals have graciously donated to Yogendra Yadav’s party Swaraj India.

During the raid, the doctors were confined to their consultation rooms and were not allowed to attend to the patients. The hospital (which also has an ICU for newborn babies) was sealed and the parents whose children were admitted in the hospital were not allowed to even enter the hospital. By the time this statement was released, the raid was still in process and is likely to continue for the night.

Speaking about the raid, Yogendra Yadav said that he has nothing to hide and the government may investigate as much as it wants.

“Mr. Modi is free to raid my house, but why bother my family? Yogendra Yadav asked.
“I am not going to be intimidated with such threats, I will continue to raise the voices of the farmers and the youth,” he added.

Speaking about the raid, party leader & national spokesperson, Anupam said, "The Modi government has made every effort to cheat the farmers and is on a full throttle propaganda to play with the figures concerning youth employment. Yogendra Yadav has been consistently exposing the policies of this government and has been a substantial voice for farmers and the youth. While on one hand Modi-Shah duo wants to divide the country in the name of Hindus & Muslims, Swaraj India on the other hand, is bringing youth & farmers at the centre of the politics of this country. This is what has upset the BJP and when all its attempts have failed, they have resorted to intimidation.

National Coordinator of the Jai Kisan Andolan Avik Saha said, “By intimidating Yogendra Yadav, a message is being sent to all farmer leaders to keep their mouth shut. But now the farmers are rising and this country shall soon see a change led by the farmers”
